Community Update: March

Grav

Welcome to our March community update! This month brings significant quality of life improvements, gameplay enhancements, and continued refinements based on your feedback.

New Features & Changes

Engine Sound Menu Integration

The engine sound menu has been directly integrated into F1, providing seamless access through the mod menu. This update includes the ability to sync your engine sound selection with your vehicle saves, making it easier than ever to customize your ride's audio experience.

Spike Strip System Rework

We've completely overhauled the spike deployment system! Instead of being stuck on a static menu, officers now hold out a suitcase and can move around freely with a live preview. The new system includes:

  • Dynamic Positioning: Run around and select your exact deployment location
  • Intuitive Controls: Adjust position, rotation, and "throw" spikes to reach further lanes
  • Faster Deployment: Animations temporarily disabled for quicker deployment (gathering feedback for potential future adjustments)
  • Auto Cleanup: Spikes are automatically removed after a set duration if not manually collected

Enhanced Chat Settings

Continuing our commitment to personalized player experiences, the chat settings menu has received a major UI overhaul:

  • Improved Visual Design: More consistent UI with better colors and fonts
  • New Customization Options: Adjust font size, message sizing, and more
  • Better User Experience: Tailor chat to your exact preferences

Gameplay Adjustments

  • Weapon Gameplay: You can no longer pull weapons from exploded or destroyed (undrivable) vehicles
  • Verification Command: Added /verify command to re-display the welcome screen for players experiencing member permission issues (e.g., Discord sync problems)
  • Dice Roll Return: The classic /roll command is back by popular demand
  • Auto-Mute on Death: Re-enabled to improve roleplay immersion
  • Gang Equipment Updates: Added Molotov to Field & Street Certified categories in gangs
  • Cuff Cooldown: Added brief cooldown for officers when suspects slip cuffs to prevent spam-cuffing scenarios

Organization & Server Management

  • Org Menu Optimization: Syncs items and category changes at faster intervals and now reloads upon clock-in, eliminating the need to relog for updates
  • Server Events Adjustment: Restart events are now chance-based rather than guaranteed every restart, making them feel more special and unexpected
    • Future plans include additional events and potential live in-game events like blackouts, partial floods in different AOPs, and more for immersive LEO/DOD/civilian interactions

Security & Moderation

AutoModeration Improvements: Continued updates to our anti-cheat system including:

  • Reduced false positive flags for legitimate players
  • Enhanced detection of malicious players
  • Average of 20+ cheaters banned per day - just from some parts of AutoMod alone - keeping the community safer

Bug Fixes

  • Welcome Screen Sync: Fixed permission refresh issues that required new members to relog after joining Discord. Speed caps (80mph) and other restrictions now sync instantly for a smoother onboarding experience
  • Recruitment Messages: Fixed raw HTML code appearing in messages with colored text, which was breaking the visual layout and teleport button display
  • Prop Syncing: Additional fixes for prop interaction issues, including situations where props weren't picking up correctly
    • We will continue to monitor and review all edge case reports
  • Gang Name Display: Fixed issue where gang character alias/name was showing for off-duty members to some clocked-in staff members

Misc Notes

  • Paleto City Hall Removed: Due to low usage, this location has been removed. We continue to monitor maps with low usage or negative impacts on gameplay to swap/replace them with alternatives to continue to improve available options

Discord Updates

Gangs Discord

  • Ticket system rebuilt and reorganized, enabling more efficient support with additional logging and commands available to the Coordination Team

DevOps Discord

  • With the release of Org Items, tickets for this category have been reworked for simple and easy access
  • Faster processing with more information available to devs including proper slot tracking and registration from purchase to server transfer
  • Streamlined workflow with bot-handled payment verification and slot availability, reducing manual staff intervention

In Progress

Humane Labs Update

Humane Labs updates have been prioritized and are now near the top of our development list. Expect news within March! This will bring:

  • Normal Roleplay Access: Humane Labs will return for regular roleplay scenarios
  • Heist Reintroduction: Potential return of the Humane Labs Heist as part of our vision for more heists and "world events" across the map

Thank you for your continued support and feedback. Stay tuned as always for more updates as they come!
